An Edgewater man was being held without bond in the county jail on charges that he raped a 13-year-old girl.

The girl told police that he forced her to have intercourse while she was visiting a friend's house on Silopanna Road on Aug. 14.

Gary Michael Hayden, 20, who lives in the 500 block Fairmont Drive was arrested about 9 p.m. Thursday and charged with second-degree rape and third-degree sexual assault.
