Man is punched, robbed of car keys

A Millersville man was punched in the face and robbed of his car keys Tuesday night as he sat on the parking lot of a Severn school, county police said.

Glenn Marvin Latham, 65, was treated at Kimbrough Army Community Hospital on Fort Meade for cuts on his cheek and forehead.

He was in his car on the parking lot of the Van Bokkelen Elementary School at Reece Road and Pioneer Drive, waiting for a poll worker shortly before 9 p.m., when a man walked up to the car and asked the time, police said.

When Mr. Latham rolled down his window, the man put his hands inside the car and told the victim he was going to rob him. Mr. Latham tried to roll up the electric window, but the man pulled it with his hands and shattered it. He then punched Mr. Latham, took his keys and ran up a foot path, police said.
