King re-elected to agency board

Stanley W. King of Taneytown has been re-elected to the board of directors of Tressler Lutheran Services, a social service agency with programs in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Mr. King's second three-year term will begin Jan. 1.

A member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mr. King serves as a Delaware-Maryland synod delegate to the National Convention of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Tressler Lutheran Services has helped those in need for more than 125 years.

The agency operates eight retirement villages in Pennsylvania and two in Western Maryland.

FIRE

* Union Bridge: Union Bridge engines responded to a house in the 500 block of Otterdale Mill Road to investigate a fire alarm sounding at 1:57 p.m. Thursday. The first volunteers to arrive found the occupant changing the battery in the smoke detector and alarm system. Units were out for 30 minutes.
