Two youths to travel around world for year

ELLICOTT CITY -- Some people dream about seeing the world. Joshua Noppenberger and Chris Bolton have already left.

The two Howard County teen-agers took off Saturday for a year-long, round-the-world trip with plans to ride elephants in Thailand and camels in Egypt, before they tour Africa, Tibet and India, Greece, Thailand, Hong Kong and Australia.

The two have dug deep into their savings for their $30,000 global journey "to see everything while it's still there," said Mr. Noppenberger, 18, of Catonsville, whose traveling companion, Mr. Bolton, is a 19-year-old Ellicott City resident.
