3 Southgate Shopping Center stores burglarized

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Three stores in the Southgate Shopping Center on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard near Mountain Road were burglarized Tuesday morning, but the owners were not sure if anything was taken, county police said.

The front doors of all three stores were smashed, police said. A woman who works for a company that cleans the parking lot called police after noticing the smashed storefronts around 6 a.m., officials said.

The thieves rummaged through items under the shelf of the Southgate Barber, scattering business cards and other papers on the floor. They also went through the counter of Amaryah's and tried to pry open a vending machine. The cash register of Stiegler's Florist Inc. had been thrown on the floor and smashed, but the bowl of change next to the register had not been emptied, police said.
