Liz McClary takes title with a 170

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Liz McClary, who has done it before many times, won the Ocean City Golf & Yacht Club Ladies Club Championship with a remarkably consistent performance over the 36 holes played. She posted a pair of 85s for a 170 total and a seven-stroke victory over Sandra Andersen.

Sandy, as she is perhaps better known, had rounds of 90 and 87 for her 177.

In the First Flight, the category immediately below the championship struggle, the honors went to Mary Twigg with a 198 that edged Jane Coates' 199. Second Flight laurels went to Connie Hall at 211 over Bella Gordon who had a 214. And Third Flight tops was by Dot Morris with a 213 over the 226 of runner-up Ethel Stampone.
