Gunman robs pharmacy of money, drugs

THE BALTIMORE SUN

An armed man escaped with an undisclosed amount of drugs and cash after robbing the Washington Heights Pharmacy Thursday night.

Westminster police said the man, in his mid-20s, walked into the store in the 200 block of Washington Road about 8:20 p.m. and approached an employee at the rear counter.

He questioned the employee about different brands of aspirin, then walked behind the counter as two other employees came to the counter from the prescription area, police said.

Investigators said the robber raised his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband and said, "I don't want to hurt anyone, just put the drugs in this bag. Now open the register and put the money in on top."

Officers said the man left the store with the bag containing the drugs and cash.

No customers were inside at the time, and no one was injured, officers said.

The robber was described as a muscular white man in need of a shave, with short dark hair and wearing a red hat with a Mickey Mouse logo. He was also wearing a white sweat shirt and gray cutoff pants.

An artist's sketch was released.

Police ask anyone having information about the robbery to call 848-4646, or 857-TIPS to remain anonymous.
