Outlook: This is a young team, with only six seniors projected as starters, five of them linemen/linebackers. The other is three-year quarterback starter Washington. A major improvement is in the numbers, as nearly 90 players are in the program. Team strengths are a big and experienced offensive line, good team speed and good athletes at the skill positions. There is a lack of depth, so the better players will have to play both ways. There is, however, potential among the underclassmen, but they lack game experience.
Bel Air Bobcats
1993 record: 6-4. Coach: Bruce Riley

Outlook: A mostly new offensive line holds the key for the season. The players will have to learn to work together and develop a cohesiveness, enabling veteran Belcastro to run the offense effectively. Gone are RBs Terry Vail and Dick Barwick, who together accounted for more than 1,800 yards, so the team's success will depend more on an ability to sustain drives. The defense is expected to be a strength. The Bob
cats won six of their last seven games last season, and the spirit and attitude this generated are back, even if some of the players are not.
C. Milton Wright Mustangs
1993 record: 10-2. Coach: Steve Harward

Outlook: The lines should be a strength, with three experienced two-way players in the 280-300-pound range. However, with only four starters on offense and three on defense back from last year's playoff team, many of the positions are undecided. With this situation, the coaches are looking for depth at all positions.

Outlook: First-year coach Myers has an offense that is expected to be stronger than the one that was shut out four times last year. It should be the strength of this team, with newcomers expected to supply much of the talent. At the same time, a lot of work has gone into trying to turn around a defense that yielded an average of more than three touchdowns a game last year.
Fallston Cougars
1993 record: 8-2. Coach: Dave Cesky

Outlook: The offensive line appears to be the strength of this squad, as sophomore Sutphin is the only holdover starter in the backfield, and there are just two senior starters on defense. The team was able to move the ball in its scrimmages, but too much talent was lost off last year's 8-2 county runner-up to expect much more than a break-even year.
Havre de Grace Warriors
1993 record: 2-8. Coach: Tom Marron

Outlook: With only 19 players on the squad, there will be many pulling two-way duty. There is, however, some size among the linemen, and Jackson is a returning starter.
John Carroll Patriots
1993 record: 2-8. Coach: Gerry Gray

Outlook: There are great offensive expectations, with some talented runners behind a veteran line. New quarterback Furst has blended in well. Solid off-season work has players confident they can improve on last year's record.
Joppatowne Mariners
1993 record: 8-4. Coach: John Kling
Top players: Matt Berger, Sr., QB; Avion Epps, Sr., LB; Alonzo McDowell, Sr., WR/LB; Lewis McKisset, Sr., RB/DB; Andre Turner, Sr., RB/DB.
Outlook: Turner, last year's county defensive player of the year (led the county in interceptions with 10 and returned six kicks for touchdowns); Epps, and McKisset are returning All-County players from a big-play team that went to the Class 1A semifinals. They help give the Mariners good specialty players, but the backs will work behind a new offensive line. This squad likely will need a lot of big plays to get past .500.
North Harford Hawks
1993 record: 1-9. Coach: Tim Larrimore
