A Crownsville man was killed Wednesday evening when his motorcycle collided head-on with a van at Reece and Telegraph roads, county police said.

Daniel Richard James, 26, of the 300 block of Hall Road was pronounced dead at North Arundel Hospital soon after the 7 p.m. accident, police said. The van driver, Cassandra Marcell Ireland, 26, of the 8200 block of Marlton Court, Severn, was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released, police said.

Ms. Ireland was eastbound on Reece Road and had turned left onto Telegraph Road before the collision, police said. Mr. James was traveling south on Telegraph road. Witnesses told investigating officers that the traffic lights for both the northbound and southbound lanes on Telegraph Road were green. Police said there was no evidence of alcohol or drug use.
