BALTIMORE -- Police have charged four men and a 13-year-old boy in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man in the 1600 block of N. Washington St. last Wednesday.
The seventh grader, police said, was charged as a juvenile and his identity was withheld.
It was not immediately known what role the teen played in the shooting.
Police said the victim, Anthony Wooden, of the 1800 block of N. Castle St., was gunned down around 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 31 and died later at a hospital. Police said at least a dozen shots were fired.
An investigation of the fatal shooting by homicide detectives and Eastern District uniformed police led police to charge the following men in Mr. Wooden's death: Nicholas Richards, 18, of the 1400 block of N. Gay St.; Daniel Ellison, 18, of the 1900 block of Hoffman St., and Kenneth McPherson, 20, and Eric Simmons, 24, both of the 1800 block of Federal St.
The men were being held without bail.
It was not immediately known if the 13-year-old was released into the custody of his parents or a guardian or was being held at a juvenile facility.
