GOP club plans debate for council candidates

The Harford County Republican Club will sponsor a debate for County Council candidates from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Bel Air library branch on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Pierno fund-raiser scheduled for Saturday

A fund-raiser for County Councilwoman Theresa Pierno, a Democratic candidate for council president, will be from 7:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Edgewood American Legion, 415 Edgewood Road.

A casual "oldies dance," chicken and pit beef will be featured.

The cost is $25 a person. Tickets are available in advance and at the door. Reservations: 638-0172.

State FOP endorses Craig for Md. Senate

Del. David R. Craig, a District 34 Republican and candidate for the state Senate, received the endorsement of the Maryland Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), which represents more than 13,000 law enforcement officers.

Mr. Craig says that while serving in the House of Delegates, he has tried to be sensitive to law and order issues.
