* Hundreds of irate Anne Arundel County oystermen jammed a legislative committee room in Annapolis to oppose a bill that would open their oyster bars to all comers. Currently, Kent and Anne Arundel counties restrict their oyster bars to their own residents. -- The Sun, Sept. 4, 1969.

* Anne Arundel County Executive Joseph W. Alton, Jr. said he will ask the County Council to approve construction of a new community library to serve the Severna Park area. It would cost an estimated $500,000 and would house about 60,000 volumes. -- The Sun, Sept. 11, 1969.

* The Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County is asking that the county school board pay fully certified teachers an $8,000 starting salary for the 1970-71 school year. -- The Sun, Sept. 16, 1969.
