Players and owners groups will meet separately with federal mediators today in New York, but no formal negotiating sessions have been scheduled.

Ownership negotiator Richard Ravitch held a conference call yesterday, during which the owners decided to cancel the quarterly owners meeting that would have taken place in Detroit next week.

Games lost

Fourteen games were canceled yesterday. The total number missed is 246.
