Irwin Maier, 95, former chairman of the board of The Journal Company, died of pneumonia Sunday in Milwaukee. He died a day after the death of his 92-year-old brother, Harold, former managing editor of The Sheboygan Press. Irwin Maier was hired by The Milwaukee Journal as an advertising salesman in 1924. The Journal Company, which is now known as Journal Communications, acquired the Milwaukee Sentinel in 1962.
