Schools superintendent to receive Scout award

Anne Arundel County public schools Superintendent Carol S. Parham will be honored with a "Good Scout" Award at a breakfast Sept. 9 at the Holiday Inn on Riva Road in Annapolis.

The award, from the Capitol District Boy Scouts of America, honors community leaders who exemplify in their daily lives the ideals of the Boy Scouts.

The Scouts cited Dr. Parham's role as an elder with Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church and her work for the National Stroke Association of Maryland and the Howard County Sexual Assault Center.
