Durham sends Keys down to 4-2 defeat

DURHAM, N.C. -- Robert Smith went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs to lead the Durham Bulls past the Frederick Keys, 4-2, in a Single-A Carolina League game.

The Bulls got to Keys starter Scott Emerson early, scoring three runs in the first and one in the second.

Four Frederick relievers held Durham scoreless for the final six innings, stranding seven runners. Billy Owens drove in the Keys' runs on a single in the seventh.
