BASEBALL STRIKE DAY 14

THE BALTIMORE SUN

News of the day

Baseball's first bargaining session in nearly two weeks ended with no pro- gress in settling the strike. After two sessions that totaled more than four hours with federal mediators, the sides agreed to resume meeting this morning.

"Maybe one of these days, we'll be able to report some progress. That day is not today," union director Donald Fehr said.

Games lost

Fourteen games were canceled yesterday. The total number missed is 169. Exactly 500 games remain on the schedule.
