* Because of a shortage of teachers, three public schools in Anne Arundel County did not re-open yesterday along with all the others. Those schools are at Harwood, Leon and Rook Point, all a considerable distance from Annapolis. -- The Sun, Sept. 9, 1919.
* D. C. McAleer was awarded a contract for $30,975 to build a mile of road between Light Street near Glen Burnie toward Clerk's Station.
