Linebacker Jesse Becton, who spent most of the season on the Baltimore CFLs' practice roster, has agreed to a one-year contract with an option year to join the Las Vegas Posse. Becton said he will be activated for Thursday's game against the Edmonton Eskimos.
Becton started two games at outside linebacker for the CFLs this season, but as a member of the practice roster is free to move to another team. He said he called Posse secondary coach Jeff Reinebold, his coach at the University of New Mexico, to explore the possibility recently.
"I didn't want to leave Baltimore," Becton said, "but there are financial aspects to the situation. If I was single with no responsibilities, this would be perfect."
Becton's fiancee lives in Albuquerque, N.M., and his parents live in Las Vegas.
