Lynx overpower Red Wings, 12-8

OTTAWA -- Tim Laker hit two of Ottawa's five homers and Hector Villanueva went 4-for-5 with three RBIs to lead the Lynx to a 12-8 win over the Rochester Red Wings last night.

The Red Wings drop to four games behind the Senators for the final playoff spot in the International League Eastern Division.

Laker hit a two-run shot in the first inning and added a bases-empty homer in the fifth. Villanueva added a bases-empty shot in the first.

Brad Pennington (5-7) took the loss. Jason Satre, who hadn't retired a batter in two of his previous three appearances, yielded three homers in two innings.

Rochester's Jeff Manto hit his 25th homer in a five-run fifth inning.
