Woman, teen arrested in drug raid

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Severn woman and a 17-year-old girl were arrested after a drug raid Wednesday night at a house in the 1700 block of Circle Road, officials said.

Detectives, who raided the house around 8:30 p.m., had obtained a search warrant after receiving complaints from area residents about drug activity at the address, police said.

Police said they found a small quantity of crack cocaine and packaging material used for street-level drug sales.

Paula Stansbury, 26, of the 1700 block of Circle Road was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. The girl was charged with the same offenses and released to the custody of her parents, police said. Ms. Stansbury had not seen a court commissioner as of yesterday afternoon, a spokeswoman for the commissioner's office in the Annapolis district court said.

Candidate's signs reported stolen again

Sheriff candidate John Moran's campaign treasurer complained to county police Tuesday that someone had stolen pro-Moran signs from the intersection of Telegraph and Dorsey roads.

Joseph Pruce, 31, told police signs that read "Elect John Moran For Sheriff" were put on private property Monday. The six signs were removed between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Signs posted at the intersection for other candidates were not moved, police said.

Mr. Pruce told police that Mr. Moran's campaign signs have been stolen throughout the county.
