Woman wins car in firefighters' drawing

Betty Mullinix of Mount Airy was the winner of a 1994 Ford Escort raffled off by the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department.

The car was presented to Mrs. Mullinix on Aug. 3.

The raffle proceeds will go toward the volunteer fire department's operating budget.

* Mount Airy: Firefighters from the Mount Airy station helped Frederick County units at an auto fire in the southbound lane of Interstate 70 at 11:41 p.m. Tuesday. They were out for 40 minutes.
