Groundbreaking set for restaurant

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new McDonald's restaurant of Lake Shore will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the building site, 45 Magothy Beach Road in Pasadena.

The event will feature appearances by state Sen. Philip C. Jimeno and Dels. Joan Cadden, W. Ray Huff and Charles W. "Stokes" Kolodziejski, all District 31 Democrats.

The new 2,900-square-foot restaurant is owned by Barbara and Bob Houck, who own five other local McDonald's. The restaurant is expected to open Nov. 1.
