A 19-year-old man was shot several times last night in a stairwell at the Hannibal Grove apartment complex, and investigators were questioning a 15-year-old boy about the shooting, police said.

The shooting occurred about 8:45 p.m. at the complex, located in the 5300 block of Brook Way, after the victim became involved in an argument with two teen-agers, police said. The injured man was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was listed in stable condition with at least four gunshot wounds.

Police said the motive for the shooting is unknown. The teen-ager taken into custody hadn't been charged last night and police were looking for another man believed to be involved in the incident.
