PORTLAND, Maine -- Rick Forney pitched seven strong innings and Hector Vargas added two RBI doubles to lead the Double-A Bowie Baysox past the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-1, last night.

Forney (12-8) allowed one run on five hits, striking out nine.

Vargas had two hits, extending his hitting streak to 14 games with the two hits.

* Tickets for the Eastern League playoffs will go on sale beginning tomorrow, the Baysox announced.

If the standings remain the same at the conclusion of the season, the Baysox would play host to the Harrisburg Senators on Sept. 8 and 9 for games 3 and 4 of a playoff series at Prince George's County Stadium.

Playoff ticket prices are the same as the regular season: $7 for reserved box seats, $5 for adult general admission and $3 general admission for children 6-14. Children under 5 are admitted free.
