Barbara Houchen of Arnold has been named director of planning and research at Anne Arundel Community College.

An associate professor of business administration at the college since 1985, Ms. Houchen has served as acting director of the planning and research office for the past year. Her responsibilities will include directing and coordinating the college strategic plan.
