THE BALTIMORE SUN

Doris V. Schmidt, a retired Baltimore elementary school teacher, died Saturday at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center of a ruptured aneurysm.

Mrs. Schmidt, who was 75 and lived in Towson, had been transferred to the local hospital after becoming ill while on vacation in New York's Catskill Mountains.

Before her retirement about 10 years ago from the Brehms Lane Elementary School, she had taught in many city schools.

After her retirement, she helped her husband, Robert F. Schmidt, retired principal of the Samuel Gompers General Vocational High School and member of the Loyola College faculty, with business workshops and seminars he gave for commercial and industrial organizations.

The former Doris Virginia Miller was a native of Baltimore and a graduate of Southern High School and what is now Towson State University. She was a member of the Altar Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson, and as a young woman had been an organist at St. Paul the Apostle Episcopal Church.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church, 120 Allegheny Ave. in Towson.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Cynthia A. Patzkowsky and Claire I. Hudson, both of Towson; a sister, Nancy M. Fromm of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
