Two men break into Odenton home, beat resident

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Two men forced their way into a home on Bruce Avenue in Odenton Wednesday night and beat a man who was there, police said.

Steven Lee Whiteman, 18, told police the men knocked on the door shortly after 10:30 p.m. When he answered, they asked if he was "Steve," police said. When he replied, they forced their way into the house and attacked him, police said. One of the men shouted something about $120 during the attack, Mr. Whiteman told police.

Mr. Whiteman, who had no visible signs of injury, did not go to the hospital. He told police his assailants drove off in a red, compact car with Maryland license tags.

Mr. Whiteman's girlfriend, who lives at the Bruce Avenue address, told police she owes $120 to a Brooklyn Park man and that the man had threatened her.
