Pennington, Oquist lose doubleheader

THE BALTIMORE SUN

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Brad Pennington continued to struggle as a starter as the Richmond Braves defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 7-4, last night in the first game of a doubleheader.

Making his fourth start of the season, Pennington (3-6) yielded three runs on seven hits in six innings. He struck out seven batters, and walked only two.

Pennington, who has lost his past three starts, cruised through the first two innings, shutting out the Braves. He gave up single runs in his last three innings, though, including a home run by John Orton in the fifth.

Former Oriole Anthony Telford (6-6) recorded the win for Richmond.

Mike Oquist made his first minor-league start since being demoted in the second game.
