Flames spreadfrom the car to the garage and were confined to that portion of the dwelling by the firefighters. The cause is under investigation by Winfield fire officials.

At 3:06 p.m. firefighters from Winfield, Mount Airy and New Windsor responded to investigate the odor of electrical smoke in the basement of a house in the 4000 block of Bee Court. The volunteers found no fire but notified the electric company.
