A Musical Benefit

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A concert to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will take place Aug. 28 at Pier 6 Pavilion at the Inner Harbor. Kathy Mattea, the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year, will headline the Hard Travelers/Ryan Homes 7th Annual Benefit Concert for Cystic Fibrosis.

Hard Travelers, a country/folk group whose leader, Kenn Roberts, started the benefit concert series in 1988, will open for Ms. Mattea.

The goal of this year's concert, according to Larry Kushner, associate executive director of the Maryland chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is to raise $300,000 for CF research.

Last year's concert, featuring the Oak Ridge Boys, raised more than $200,000.

Tickets for the 6:30 p.m. show are priced as follows: $100 for VIP tickets (includes a pre-concert buffet reception with the Central Maryland Chefs & Cooks Association starting at 5 p.m.); $50 for premium reserved tickets; $25 for reserved seats; $13 for lawn seating.

To order tickets, call the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at (410) 771-9000. Reserved seats and lawn seats can also be ordered through TeleCharge at (410) 625-1400.
