* A flash-fire broke out in a concession tent crowded with 100 people at the Maryland Clam Festival in Annapolis. Only one injury was reported. The festival, expected to attract 80,000, is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Annapolis. -- The Sun, Aug. 9, 1969.

* Major changes in the Naval Academy have been instituted by Rear Adm. James Calvert, superintendent. The so-called core-curriculum has been abandoned, the summer-at-sea training program modified and the intensive hazing of the freshman class has been practically eliminated. -- The Sun, Aug. 10, 1969.

* Four persons were arrested in downtown Annapolis today as police dispersed a crowd of about 25 Negroes who, they said, were loitering in the West Street Shopping Center. Court action is pending. -- The Sun, Aug. 15, 1969.
