Disney reports record earnings

The Walt Disney Co. yesterday reported record earnings in the latest quarter, buoyed by video sales and blockbuster animated films like "The Lion King."

For the third quarter, the entertainment giant said it earned a record $268 million, or 49 cents a share, compared with profits of $259 million, or 48 cents a share, a year ago. Revenues rose to a record $2.4 billion from $1.9 billion.
