Gunman sought after High's robbery

A man armed with a semiautomatic handgun robbed a High's store in the 400 block of Camp Meade Road Friday night, county police said.

The gunman entered the store around 11 p.m. and asked one of the two clerks working there to give him change for a $20 bill, police said. The suspect then walked to the back of the store, pulled out the handgun and ordered the other clerk to give him the keys to the safe, police said.

After getting the keys, the gunman gave them to the clerk and ordered him to go to the front of the store and get the money from the safe. The clerk complied and brought the suspect the cash in a plastic, white High's bag. The gunman ran out the back door and into some nearby woods, police said.
