Baltimore man injured in Hog Neck Road crash

A Baltimore City man was in serious condition yesterday evening at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after his car collided head-on with a Jeep on Hog Neck Road Thursday evening, officials said.

John Fitzgerald Bacigalupa, 30, of the 1400 block of Weldon Place South, received head, chest and abdominal injuries in the 7:45 p.m. accident, county police said. He was driving his 1980 Toyota south on Hog Neck Road near Tower Bridge Drive when he crossed the center line into the path of a Jeep Cherokee driven by Troy Joseph Graves, 20, of the 7900 block of Bellhaven Road in Pasadena, police said.

Mr. Graves was not injured in the accident, police said. Traffic investigators said they do not know why Mr. Bacigalupa crossed the line.

Officer R. C. Martin of the department's traffic investigation unit said the victim was wearing a seat belt.
