THE BALTIMORE SUN

A man believed to have stolen nearly $3,000 worth of tools from a garage on Ritchie Highway returned in a cab Tuesday morning and broke into the garage again, police said.

Sarah Jane Hambruch, 46, told police she saw the cab pull up to her garage shortly after 6 a.m. A man got out and entered the garage by climbing through the west window, police said. Ms. Hambruch confronted the man as he came out the garage's front door, police said.

The man fled when he saw Ms. Hambruch. Police said the cabdriver chased the man onto Ritchie Highway but lost him. The cabbie told police he picked up the man at the Holiday Inn North and that the man directed him to the Ritchie Highway address, where the man said he was going to get his tools, police said.
