Cocaine, guns seized in Edgewood arrests

Two Edgewood men were arrested on drug charges after the Harford County Joint Narcotics Task Force raided their Watergate Court apartment Thursday night and seized $1,200 worth of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and three weapons, said Deputy First Class DeWayne Curry, a task force spokesman.

Harvey "Pete" Collier, 20, was being held at the Detention Center on $75,000 bail. Eric Elmo Banks Betterson, 18, was held on $15,000 bail. Each was charged with possession of and intent to distribute cocaine.

An ounce of crack cocaine and electric gram scales were found in the raid, Deputy Curry said. Weapons confiscated included a .357-caliber rifle, a 20-gauge shotgun and a 12-gauge shotgun, the deputy said.

$1,000 reward offered for leads in break-in

Harford County Crime Solvers, a group of concerned citizens, is offering up to $1,000 in reward for the arrest and indictment of those responsible for breaking into a residence in the 2400 block of Creswell Road between 3:30 p.m. and midnight July 8.

Parts of the house were ransacked. A .38-caliber revolver and 25 pounds of pennies were stolen. The loss was estimated at $205.

Police described a potential suspect seen in the area about the time of the burglary as a blond man wearing blue denim shorts and driving a blue Ford pickup.

Tools, materials stolen from construction site

The owner of a Baltimore construction company told Havre de Grace police that someone stole various items from a job site in the 400 block of Brent Court between noon and 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The stolen items were two circular saws, a nail gun, five extension cords, a 50-pound bag of nails and a roof stapler, a loss estimated at $1,185.
