Glen Burnie man arrested on drug charges

County police, responding to a complaint of loud music at an apartment complex where they say drug dealers stash their wares, arrested an 18-year-old Glen Burnie man on drug charges Sunday morning, police said yesterday.

Officer James Haskell arrived at Woodhill Drive shortly before 3 a.m. and saw several men walking from an apartment building to a nearby convenience store. Meanwhile, Officer Gerald Jones spotted the same group and called them to his car. But one of the men, carrying a plastic bag, turned back toward the apartments.

Officer Haskell saw the man walk into a stairwell of the apartment building, go downstairs, then return and leave the building.

Officer Haskell went into the building and found a clear plastic sandwich bag that contained 16 smaller bags of a substance that field-tested positive for crack cocaine, police said.

Derrick Tisellis Myles, 18, of 300 block of Oak Manor Drive was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, police said.

Mr. Myles was released yesterday on $1,000 bond.

* Glen Ridge: Someone smashed the rear cab window of a truck parked in the 400 block of Vernon Court Sunday morning and stole tools and construction equipment of an undetermined value.
