Man asks for change, then robs gas station
A gunman robbed a Mobil gas station in the 1400 block of Annapolis Road Sunday night of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said yesterday.
The man came into the station shortly after 8:30 p.m. and asked the clerk for change, police said. When the clerk turned around, the man stuck a black, semiautomatic handgun in his face and ordered him to sit on the floor, police said.
The robber then went around the counter and emptied the cash register. As he left, the man struck the clerk in the head with the gun. The clerk received a small cut from the blow but did not require hospital treatment, police said.
The robber fled in a faded green 1968 to 1970 Pontiac, possibly a LeMans model, police said.
