* The three-masted schooner Churchill arrived today in Annapolis with ice from Maine being the first vessel in with ice in some weeks. Baltimore dealers have been supplying the Annapolis icemen for several weeks past while they awaited a supply of ice from the north. -- The Sun, Aug. 8, 1894.

* A colored camp meeting is in progress at Brooklyn Park. The camp is being held under the auspices of a colored Baptist church and is an innovation, these out-of-doors meetings have been confined heretofore strictly to Methodists. -- The Sun, Aug. 14, 1894.

* A city ordinance requiring bicyclers to use bells and lamps at night in Annapolis went into effect tonight. There was a parade of wheelmen in celebration of the event using colored lamps and ringing cow bells. -- The Sun, Aug. 16, 1894.
