The Washington Capitals will open the 1994-95 season on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 1, the team announced yesterday.
Highlights of the 84-game schedule include the home opener Oct. 7 against the Pittsburgh Penguins and visits by the Stanley Cup champion New York Rangers on Dec. 27, Jan. 14 and March 18.
Washington's regular season ends April 8 at home against the Buffalo Sabres.
