A brief in the Carroll County edition of the Sun on Friday incorrectly reported the price of tickets to a July 17 fund-raiser for Uniontown resident Rachelle Feldman-Hurwitz, a Democratic

candidate for state Senate in District 5. Tickets are $20 each.

The Sun regrets the error.

Democratic candidate to sponsor fund-raiser

Uniontown resident Rachelle Feldman-Hurwitz, a Democratic candidate for the District 5 Senate seat, will sponsor a fund-raiser from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 17, at Frock's Sunnybrook Farm in Westminster.

Tickets are $10. Jesse Yawn with "Soul Providers" will provide musical entertainment.

Ms. Feldman-Hurwitz faces Democratic candidate Cynthia Huggins Cummings of Silver Run in the Sept. 13 primary.

Incumbent Sen. Larry E. Haines, a Republican and Westminster real estate broker, is running for a second term.

Republican committee to open headquarters

The Carroll County Republican Central Committee will open its headquarters at 14-16 Liberty St. in Westminster at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Republican candidates for state and local office have been invited to attend.
