The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department is starting its annual door-to-door fund-raising drive that will last for the next few months.

Each family that participates in the program will receive a color family portrait taken at the station on an arranged day.

* Ellicott City: 2900 block of Chestnut Hill Drive: A compound bow and other items were stolen from a storage shed Monday, police said.

4700 block of Leyden Way: Officers responding to an alarm found a garage door open early Wednesday morning, but there were no suspects in sight, police said.

8700 block of Town and Country Blvd.: A 1991 Suzuki Quad 250R was stolen between Saturday and Tuesday, police said.

* Elkridge: 6800 block of Ducketts Lane: Jewelry and cash were stolen from a home Monday, but police are unsure how the residence was entered.
