Pickup hits Howard boy in Baltimore

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 9-year-old Ellicott City boy was in critical condition last night at the Johns Hopkins Hospital after being struck by a pickup truck yesterday morning in Northwest Baltimore, police said.

Charles Gresham of the 3900 block of Chatham Road was crossing Garrison Boulevard in the 3400 block about 8 a.m. when he was struck by a northbound Ford pickup truck, according to Officer Robert W. Weinhold Jr., a Baltimore police spokesman.

The officer said the accident was attributed to pedestrian error because the boy was not crossing the street at a crosswalk.
