3 arrested in Annapolis drug probe


Annapolis police arrested three people during an undercover drug operation in the Clay Street area Friday night.

The investigation, which targeted street-level drug dealers, used officers posing as drug buyers, police said.

Arrested and charged with distribution of crack cocaine were: Aleeta V. Rogers, 29, of the 1800 block of Copeland St.; Monteray Arkell Hastey, 23, no fixed address; and Kelvin Parker, 28, of the 100 block of Obery Court. Mr. Hastey also was charged with resisting arrest and battery. All except Mr. Hastey were released on their own recognizance. Mr. Hastey was being held on $7,500 bail.

Annapolis woman injured in attack

A 28-year-old Annapolis woman was in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after she was allegedly attacked Monday night, police said.

The woman was found lying in the 1100 block of Madison around 11 p.m. Her skull had been fractured. Witnesses told police a man had punched the woman in the face.

Theon Estep Franklin, 23, of the 1100 block of Eastport Terrace was arrested and charged with assault. He was being held in the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Police believe the attack stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Woman, 35, raped by apartment intruder

A 35-year-old woman was raped Friday night in the Georgetown East neighborhood of Annapolis, police said.

The woman told police someone entered her apartment as shslept and attacked her about 1 a.m. Friday.

Police said the assailant apparently entered the home through a pet door.
