BOWIE -- Billy Owens' two-run homer to center field launched a comeback from a two-run deficit and the Bowie Baysox went on to a 7-2 Eastern League victory over the New Haven Ravens last night at Prince George's County Stadium.
Former major-leaguer Steve Chitren, replacing the promoted Jimmy Haynes, allowed the Ravens one hit -- a home run to Bryn Kosco -- in five innings and gained the victory.
It was Chitren's first start since 1992 when he was with Tacoma, the Oakland Athletics' Triple-A club.
Kevin Ryan and Joe Borowski each permitted one hit in two relief innings and Borowski finished with a flourish, striking out the side in the New Haven ninth.
The Baysox (47-29) had 11 hits, including three doubles and a triple by Cesar Devarez while winning their third straight before 5,164 fans.
