Man faces charges after 7-Eleven holdup

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Police have charged a New Windsor man in a Jan. 21 holdup of a 7-Eleven in Finksburg.

Raymond T. Charlton Jr., who is accused of driving the getaway car, faces charges of robbery with a deadly weapon and theft of less than $300, according to documents filed in Carroll County District Court.

The documents say a man remained in the car as 22-year-old Westminster resident Michael Walter Jones entered the store.

A report by Tfc. Ronald W. Cullison charges that Mr. Charlton knew in advance that the store would be robbed.

The documents say Mr. Jones told investigators Mr. Charlton was driving the car.

Mr. Jones has been charged with attempted murder as well as robbery in the case.

Court documents allege that he beat the store clerk with the wooden handle of a shovel and then took a cash register that contained $200.
