A man suspected of shooting his stepson barricaded himself in his Odenton home and then apparently shot and killed himself early yesterday, county police reported.

John Sellner, 36, was found dead shortly after 3 a.m. yesterday by police who had surrounded his home in the 1300 block of Odenton Road.

Mr. Sellner's stepson, Richie Ganeff, was shot in the right forearm about 12:30 a.m. near the home, police said. Mr. Ganeff, 19, was treated at North Arundel Hospital, police said.

After the shooting, police surrounded the home and attempted to reach Mr. Sellner by telephone. After a while, police heard a gunshot, waited a while and then entered and found Mr. Sellner dead.

Police believe he killed himself with a handgun found near his body.
