Explosion forces evacuation of 150

A minor explosion and electrical fire at a dry cleaning business forced the evacuation of 150 employees and patrons from the Oakland Mills Village Center for about 45 minutes about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The fire at Oakland Mills Cleaners in the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place caused about $10,000 damage, said Bob Wiseman, a spokesman for the county's Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

No injuries were reported, and investigators had not determined the cause of the blaze by late Friday.
