June 28: Philadelphia: President Tyler -- The President arrived in this city last night from New York, accompanied by his bride, and this morning took the cars for Baltimore.

July 2: For a few years past most of the improvements in our city have taken place in the "West End," but they must look out or Fell's Point will go ahead of them. A large number of fine dwellings have recently been erected and more are in progress.

June 26: Road Supervisor Cowley moved the steam road roller from the twelfth district yesterday to the ninth district, and will use it on Joppa Road, between Towson and Sherwood, at points where that road has been recently stoned.

June 29: In the thunderstorm Tuesday evening, lightning struck a large oak tree and killed a cow on the place of Mr. Caleb A. Wilson at Glenarm.

June 26: June 6 was quite a day for Lieut. Joseph Ward George, a Marauder pilot from Baltimore. In the early morning hours he flew his 65th mission as part of the Allied aerial armada which blasted the beaches of Normandy as a prologue to the invasion.

June 28: The S.S. William S. Baer, named for the famous Johns Hopkins orthopedic surgeon, was launched at the Bethlehem-Fairfield shipyard yesterday with Miss Elizabeth Baer, his niece, as the sponsor.
